Third annual a cappella festival hosted by A Cappella Texas, featuring a variety of Austin-area a cappella groups. Event is free! (Donations welcomed). A Cappella Unlimited will perform for the 3rd year of this festival. Doors open 12:30, Concert begins 1:00 p.m.

Regional competition this year is in Austin, TX!
March 22 on the lovely Topfer Stage at the Zach Scott Theatre, Au will take the stage as the 11th chorus. This will be our last performance with Katy Dane as our director and we plan to knock it out of. the park!! Stay tuned for a link to the event webcast.
Choruses and quartets from all over Region 10 will gather in Austin for the 62 annual event where the top chorus and quartet will be named after two days of competition. The venue this year has moved to Austin for the first time in years so we hope many of Au’s friends and family members will be able to join us….either live and in person or via the webcast. A Cappella Unlimited has been invited to perform on the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Midwinter Convention Show, Thursday, January 30 at 7:30 p.m. We are excited and honored to be included in this event.
Au’s Annual retreat and coaching in preparation for competition, March 20-22. We are excited to welcome Rob Mance as our weekend coach. Held at YO Ranch Hotel in Kerrville, Texas. Members Only event.
Robert Mance has been directing Vocal Standard since its inception in 2015. Under his direction, Vocal Standard has quickly earned popularity and grown tremendously in musical excellence. So much so, that in the ensemble's first competition (4 months after chartering) they earned 2nd Place overall. Robert is also the musical director of the 3rd place International medalist men's chorus, Central Standard, of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Robert is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting at the University of Kansas, where he has been conductor of the Oread Consort. He is also the Director of Music at the Shawnee Presbyterian Church in Shawnee, Kansas where he also maintains a private voice studio.
Before starting his studies at KU, Robert most recently served as interim Director of Choral Activities and interim Voice Area Director at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. Robert has also sung professionally with such groups as the Kansas City Chorale under Charles Bruffy and the Westminster Symphonic Choir and Wesminster Choir under Joe Miller.
He is an active clinician for high school vocal ensembles, maintains a recording studio, and serves as an active barbershop coach and society judge.
Robert completed his undergraduate studies at McGill University in Montreal, QC in voice performance, and completed his graduate studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ in choral conducting and voice pedagogy.
Robert resides in Kansas City with his wife Kristin, an English teacher.

Au invites female voices to our open rehearsals each Monday, 7 p.m. at Texas State University, Music Building, 101 Pleasant Street, Room 214, San Marcos, TX
Guests are provided with music and an opportunity to sing with the section that best suits their voice. It’s your chance to try acappella in the barbershop style of arranging. Of course we’d love for you to consider becoming a member but there is no pressure or fee to attend the open rehearsal and give us a try.
